Strep screening on site

Sore throat and strep testing in West Anaheim and Laguna Woods

Most sore throats are not strep. A rapid swab here usually gives you the answer during the same visit.

Know before you go home

A sore throat on its own does not tell you much.

Common questions

Is my sore throat strep?
Most are not. A lot of sore throats come from an ordinary virus and settle on their own. The swab is what separates the two, and we do it here.
How long does the test take?
It is a rapid screening run in the clinic, and we go over the result with you before you leave.
When should I come in?
If swallowing is painful, if you have a fever, if it has lasted more than a few days, or if someone at home has had strep.
Can you check for mono as well?
Yes. We have mononucleosis screening on site too, and the doctor will say whether it fits what you describe.

Go to the emergency room instead if
you cannot swallow your own saliva, you are drooling, your neck is swollen and stiff, or you are having trouble breathing. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
